The training loop


After this weekends 10km run in Plymouth, the training begins. Two laps of this lovely route! Chedzoy, into Bower, out on Westonzoyland Road and back into Chedzoy, drink stop at the house and around again... 20km exactly.

A small update...


Today I was confirmed a place in the 2013 Bath Half Marathon, running for Cancer Research UK.
My target, with your help, is to raise £300!!

It's definitely going to be a challenge as I've not yet run much more than 10km (this will be 21km). My aim is to complete it in less than 2 hours and as painlessly as possible.

So it all starts here!

First of all, I'm not a fan of blogs. But I have a feeling that if I post any more Endomondo running logs to Facebook I may lose a few contacts.

So, what's the point in all of this you ask? Well, I somewhat stupidly decided that rather than have a New Years resolution of 'being a bit more healthy', or 'spending less frivolously', I'd challenge myself to run in at least 2 or 3 competitions per month.


Weston AC Prom series - November 2012


2012 was the kick-start to all of this, running 120km since August.
Entering a Duathlon with no preparation and a chemical burn to my eye was probably the highlight!


So, to kick it all off, I'll be running three events this month;

  • The Plymouth January Jaunt - 10 km - 13th of January
  • Weston AC Prom Run series - 5 miles - 17th of January
  • The Bath Skyline off-road run - 10 km - 20th of January
I guess I'll also put in writing that I'm entering the Bath Half Marathon with Kim, so there! No backing out now. I'm sure we'll be pestering you all for sponsorship nearer March!
